Few things express the essence of hand-tool woodworking better than dovetails. Mastering the joint requires tools that perform flawlessly. The Blue Spruce Dovetail Saw makes that all-important first step in the process much easier. We machine the 16 ppi toothline into a Swedish-steel blade using state-of-the-art CNC grinding equipment and Cubic Boron Nitride grinding wheels. Each blade is inspected and adjusted by an experienced saw maker and leaves the shop ready to cut.
Supporting that toothline is a spine unlike any other. Our steel spines go through a proprietary process to relieve any stress in the material and flatten them to industry-leading tolerance. This perfectly straight, stable spine allows us to mill the slot for the blade to a precision press-fit, keeping the blade perfectly tensioned and your cuts right on track.
The handle joins the spine and blade such that the saw naturally aligns itself to your arm. We resin-infuse the handles, making them strong and dimensionally stable without sacrificing the warm touch of real wood. You have your choice of figured Maple or Black Walnut.
